The village was short staffed these days, it seemed Tsunade was sending shinobi out on missions left and right and never giving anyone a real break. Tsukiko jerked her head to both sides, in a vain attempt to get her neck to pop, her whole body was aching, and these missions one on top of the other were absolutely killing her. Tsukiko gritted her teeth while she kneaded the area between her neck and shoulder, feeling it tense tightly under her touch. Suddenly the ANBU member was taken by surprise as her hand was gently removed, and replaced with a much stronger one.
“Let me help you.” The man smiled,  Tsukiko stared at him a moment before leaning back, and closing her eyes to enjoy the impromptu massage.
She hummed happily, “Thank you Yamato.”  Predictably so the peaceful moment was short lived, as the Hokage’s summoning bird was flying overhead, directing the shinobi below to report to Tsunade’s office immediately. Yamato and Tsukiko shared a glance, and sighed. “Well…it was nice while it lasted.” He shrugged, offering his hand to Tsukiko to help her up.
“Let’s go,”
“Right!” And then typical to form the two high ranking shinobi disappeared in a cloud of dust.
“You called for us, M’lady?” Tsukiko asked, keeping her voice and posture as firm and professional as possible. She was an ANBU after all, and her rank did command a certain level of integrity and respect.
Tsunade intertwined her fingers together, and rested her chin on them, “Yes I did. As you both know we’re a bit short staffed lately, and I’m being forced to call every available shinobi as much as I possible to complete our necessary missions just to keep the village a float. I can’t exactly call on the Genin to take care of such high level missions, so that’s why I’ve been forced to run the higher ranking ones in to the ground lately.” She chewed on the inside of her cheek, feeling bad for the ridiculous amount of missions she’s had to send her ninja on.
“We understand M’lady.” Yamato interjected, lining his body up with Tsukiko’s .
Tsukiko looked at both the Hokage, and Yamato for a brief moment, before speaking up, “My apologies for being blunt, but what’s the mission Ma’am?”
“Right,” Lady Tsunade said, straightening herself up, “Yamato and Tsukiko, your mission is to escort the Feudal lord to his destination without injury. The location is of the utmost secrecy and the entirety of the mission must be treated as such, is that understood?”
“Yes ma’am!” Both Shinobi replied.
After going over the finer details of the mission Yamato and Tsukiko were dismissed, and headed off to the rendezvous point.  The two weren’t waiting long before they heard the clacking of the Feudal Lord’s carriage, and the whinnying of horses coming up over the mountain side.
“Here he comes.” Tsukiko commented, shifting her weight to the left foot, her hand firmly placed on her hip. To put it nicely the land of Fire’s feudal Lord was a unique individual, not to mention fickle. He’s easily persuaded in his choices, and doesn’t seem to take really any matter seriously. This made transporting him extremely difficult.
“We’ve got our work cut out for us this time Tsukiko.” Yamato said, with a sigh. When the carriage came to a stop a few feet from the two unmasked ninja, the shinobi did not exchange conversation with the feudal lord but only took their places beside the carriage, Tsukiko on the right and Yamato on the left. For hours it was nothing more than a leisurely stroll through the country side, Tsukiko couldn’t help herself she took in a long breath of the fresh air and sighed happily.
This is a quite beautiful landscape, though it doesn’t make much sense as to why a feudal lord would have business way out here. she thought to herself, letting her eyes move towards the carriage, the feudal lord wasn’t visible, but she looked anyway. Trying to deduce the reasons behind the escort mission in the first place. Come to think of it, Lady Fifth didn’t even tell us where exactly we were going, or why. Just told us to guard the Feudal Lord, and follow his carriage closely.  For numerous reasons this bothered Tsukiko, she didn’t necessarily like not knowing what her mission objective was, nor was she exactly comfortable with how hasty Lady Tsunade was on sending them out or the vague mission overview. The first day of travel went off without a hitch, the mountain terrain proving to be the only difficulty in their path. Tsukiko found it comical how hard Yamato had to strain just to push the carriage up over a boulder.
“Yamato, don’t you think it’d be easy if you’d just, oh I don’t know, used your wood style?” She mocked, sticking her tongue out at him. Yamato, drenched in sweat shot Tsukiko a weary look. She smiled, and came over to help him push, “I’m just saying, it’d be easier is all.”
Yamato rolled his eyes, “Thanks for the advice.” He teased back.
“You’re welcome!” She sneered, pressing her elbow into his side for a minute. The night came and Yamato created a small house using his wood-style for the Feudal Lord to stay in, once it was complete the Feudal Lord sat there like a child, and clapped his hands in great excitement. “Splendid, splendid!”
“Heh, I’m glad you like it my lord.” Yamato said exasperated, making something so lavish had taken a great deal of chakra not to mention the rest of the day’s strenuous activities. The meal unfortunately was not exactly up to par compared to the building, but the Feudal Lord seemed to make no qualms about it, much to Tsukiko and Yamato’s relief. Soon after, the Feudal lord and his wife turned in for the night, and Yamato and Tsukiko took turns guarding the premises. Neither of them seemed to mind it was a lovely night after all and the mission had required minimum effort. Which made Yamato suspicious and upon Tsukiko coming to relieve him of his post, spoke up on the matter, “ Tsukiko?”
“Hmm?”
“Don’t you think it’s strange that we haven’t encountered any thieves, bandits, assassins, other ninja, anyone?”
Tsukiko took a moment to ponder this, “Now that you mention it, It is weird how relaxed this mission is. I was expecting at least a bounty hunter to show up for the Feudal Lord’s head.” She said, crossing her arms and leaning up against one of the banisters.  Yamato removed his eyes from her, and began to look out at the mountains in front of him, “In any case, we leave first thing the morning.” That was his last comment to her for the evening, and with the morning light the lavish temporary building was gone in a puff of dust, and Tsukiko was assisting the Feudal Lord in packing up. However, the day didn’t have the same relaxed feeling that the previous one did. Something was amiss, and by the look on Yamato’s face, he had noticed it too. They were being followed now.
Despite this they decided not to attack the pursuers, as they could just simply be merchants, or farmers headed off to their crops, and rice paddies.  And besides they were supposed to arrive at their destination by dusk anyway, and there was sure to be more guards there. They continued on with their travels, and unfortunately, found out that their pursuers were in fact enemy shinobi, rouge ninja by the looks of it. Tsukiko quickly leapt into actions, and placed herself in front of the carriage, while Yamato began weaving signs so his jutsu would be ready the second they came out of the bushes.
“We know you’re there!” Tsukiko called, clutching her kunai up in a defensive position. As if awaiting permission, the shinobi came out of their hiding place. “We’ll be taking the Feudal Lord off of your hands now, though we do appreciate you bringing him this far for us.” Their leader commented, he was tall tan skinned man, with piercing blue eyes. He had quite a few goons behind him, but they didn’t appear to either Yamato or Tsukiko to be that much of a threat. The blue eyed man’s men were taking down with minimum effort on Yamato’s part, he manage to capture them wth his wod-style and restrain them. The Hokage would want to interrogate them later, so he was simply leaving them pre-packaged for the ninja she would send to retrieve them.  On the other side of the hill top was Tsukiko and the leader of the rouge shinobi, he had a considerably higher amount of skill than his counterparts, and Tsukiko herself was finding him a little hard to handle. All the while the Feudal Lord and his wife sat oblivious in their carriage, bantering about the last social function. Occasionally you could hear them laugh, which caught the rouge ninja off guard, he wasn’t expecting the feudal lord to be so nonchalant during an attack. Tsukiko, seeing an opening, used her Wind Release: One Thousand Tornadoes, causing the man to fly backwards and hit a tree-hard. The impact was enough to knock him unconscious, and Yamato promptly put him with the others. Tsukiko stumbled over to the carriage and pushed the blinds up, and with a ragged breath, “My lord, are you and your lady alright?” He said, clearly tired form her scuffle. The feudal lard simply waved his fan in front of his face, “But of course! Now then if you two are done, may we continue? It’s very important that we arrive on time!” He said, with complete disreagard for what just happened outside his carriage. Tsukiko could feel a vein start to bulge on her head, but hit her tongue, “Of course my lord, we’ll set out at once.” She said, bowing.

The last few hours of the journey were similar to t first day, they had no complications and just as scheduled arrived at dusk.
“Wha-what?!” Tsukiko screeched, “W-We went through ALL of this trouble, to get HERE?” She exclaimed completely exasperated. Before her was a beautiful place, the only problem was it was a couple’s resort. The feudal lord laughed. “Why of course! It is our Anniversary after all and me and the Mrs., decided it’d be good to get out of that stuffy old palace.” He cackled maniacally, having his guards help him out, before reaching behind him to get the hand of his rather plump wife. She was clutching a cat, the cat looked just about as pleased as Tsukiko did.
“Oh! Isn’t this wonderful Tora?” The plump women screeched, pressing her cat up to her cheeks, and rocking back and forth with it. The cat looked like it wanted more than anything to escape, but was powerless to escape the Feudal Lord’s wife’s clutches. AS the comical scene unfolded Yamato simply just stood on the sidelines, rubbing his head and tried to mask his laughter. Tsukiko grumbled, and stomped her way over to him, before grabbing his shoulder to whisper in his ear, “I cannot believe Lady Tsunade did this to us.” She groaned.
“Well to be honest,” Yamato offered, “Lady Hokage never did say what kind of trip the Fedual Lord was taking.”
Tsukiko glared at him, “Not another word.”
As the two began the long journey back to Konoha Yamato realized something, the mission had ultimately left the two shinobi with different feelings. Yamato found humor in the situation, while Tsukiko was left with having a bone to pick with Lady Fifth.
